SU26: Lil' Music Makers (Age 5 - 7) 8/17 - 8/21 HALF DAY 9am to NOON
Lil’ Music Makers is a fun-filled summer camp designed for young children ages 5–7 to discover the joy of making music!
Throughout the week, campers will:

Explore piano, ukulele, and singing

Learn basic rhythm notation and vocal techniques

Make music with DIY percussion instruments

Experiment with electronic music using Chrome Music Lab

Meet guest teachers and instrumentalists demonstrating other instruments
Each day is full of hands-on activities, demonstrations, and guided exploration to spark creativity and confidence. The week concludes with a big performance for parents to celebrate everything campers have learned!
Full-Day Option: Includes a lunch break and extended music activities.
Extended Care: Available 3:00?PM – 5:00?PM for an extra fee, giving working parents flexibility while campers continue to play and explore music.

| Instructor Bio: | Jon Minei Songwriting, Guitar & Music Instructor | Co-Owner, Palos Verdes Music House Jon Minei is a seasoned music educator, songwriter, and guitarist with over two decades of experience helping students discover their creative voice and build lifelong musical skills. As a tenured professor of music at El Camino College, Jon brings a high level of academic expertise combined with a practical, real-world approach to teaching. Jon specializes in songwriting, guitar instruction, and contemporary music studies, working with students of all ages—from beginners learning their first chords to aspiring songwriters developing original music. His lessons focus on creativity, musical understanding, and confidence, helping students not only play music, but truly express themselves through it. Before co-founding Palos Verdes Music House, Jon was the owner and director of Opus Music of South Bay, a respected music lessons studio in Old Torrance that served the community for nearly two decades (2004–2022). Through Opus, he helped hundreds of students begin and continue their musical journeys, building a strong reputation for quality instruction and community engagement. As a songwriter and performer, Jon brings a deep understanding of modern music styles, composition, and the creative process. His teaching emphasizes learning how to think musically, empowering students to write their own songs, collaborate with others, and develop their unique artistic identity. Parents appreciate Jon’s ability to connect with students, challenge them appropriately, and make lessons both engaging and meaningful. His background as both an educator and business owner gives him a unique perspective on guiding students toward long-term success in music—whether for personal enjoyment, academic growth, or professional aspirations.
