Intro to Guitar (Grades 5–8)
With Rob Cubillos
No experience? No problem! This class is designed for total beginners in grades 5–8 (and exceptions can be made). Students will learn essential guitar skills, including basic chords, strumming patterns, and music fundamentals—all in a relaxed, fun, and supportive setting.
Requirements: Students must bring a working guitar. All other materials will be provided by the instructor.
Taught by Rob Cubillos, our fantastic new guitar teacher, this is the perfect starting point for any young musician ready to rock!

Requirements: | Students are required to have their own working guitar. Guitars can also be purchased at the store with some guidance by our staff or the guitar class instructor. |

Instructor Bio: | Meet Rob Cubillos – Guitar Instructor Rob Cubillos is a versatile guitarist and dedicated music educator with a passion for helping students of all ages and experience levels thrive. He recently earned a dual Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Dominguez Hills—one in Music with an emphasis in Jazz Guitar Performance, and the other in Digital Media Arts with a focus on Music Technology. He also holds an Associate of Arts degree in Jazz Guitar Performance and Contemporary Media from El Camino College. Rob’s performance background is as dynamic as his teaching. He has recorded and toured across the U.S. with the progressive rock band Phavian, and has played with a wide range of Los Angeles-based bands in genres from rock to jazz. While his academic training is rooted in jazz, Rob is equally at home playing straight-ahead rock-n-roll, progressive rock, and acoustic guitar styles. As an instructor, Rob is known for his patient, encouraging teaching style. He’s experienced in adapting lessons to suit different learning styles and student personalities—making him a great fit for beginners, intermediate players, and advanced musicians alike. |
